Tennis Syria……….

 The first Syrian tennis federation was established in 1953.

During  the period to follow, the game was featured for its family nature, and pioneers of the first generation transmitted this game to their children and friends.

By the early 1970’s , the game affairs were organized within institutional activities when a decree was issued providing the incorporation of the general sports federation.

Further the Syrian tennis federation enrolled as a full member in the International Tennis Federation (ITF) in 1953 and started participating in Davis Cup event (DC) in 1986 and  Federation Cup (Fed Cup) in 1994.

Each year Damascus is hosting 2 ITF juniors weeks in addition to many national events.

This year 2008 , Syria is hosting for the first time ITF pro-circuit events under the full sponsorship of Damascus El Muhafaza club .
